Caribbean Calcite

Caribbean Calcite is a relatively new trade name for a striking blue-and-brown stone composed mainly of calcite with aragonite inclusions. Its soft ocean-like colors made it very popular in the crystal and decorative stone market after it appeared around 2019.

What it actually is

Caribbean Calcite is not a distinct mineral species. It’s typically:

• Blue calcite mixed with
• White/light brown aragonite

The layered appearance creates the “tropical shoreline” look that inspired the name.

Despite the name, it is not from the Caribbean.

Typical features include:

• Pale sky blue to aqua tones
• Cream, tan, or brown banding
• Cloudy or ocean-wave patterns

Crystal communities often associate Caribbean Calcite with:

• Calm and soothing energy
• Sleep and dream work
• Emotional healing
• Meditation
